Cast from iPhone or iPad to Chromecast

Connect SageIPTV for iOS to Chromecast, allow Local Network access, and troubleshoot device discovery or stream playback.

SageIPTV for iOS supports casting compatible streams to Chromecast. Your iPhone or iPad and the receiver need to find each other on the network, and the receiver must be able to play the stream itself.

Before you cast

Connect the iPhone or iPad and the Chromecast receiver to the same Wi-Fi network. In iOS Settings, allow Local Network access for SageIPTV. Guest Wi-Fi isolation and VPN routing can prevent device discovery.

Use the built-in VLC player for the casting controls described here. Casting availability also depends on the selected stream and your installed app version.

Start casting

  1. Open a channel or video in SageIPTV’s built-in VLC player.
  2. Show the player controls and tap the Cast button.
  3. Choose your Chromecast from the device list and allow time for the connection.
  4. If playback fails, try another channel to check whether the issue is specific to that stream.
  5. Use the casting controls to disconnect when you want to continue on your phone or tablet.

If no receiver appears

  • Check that both devices are on the same local Wi-Fi network and the receiver is powered on.
  • Enable SageIPTV’s Local Network permission in iOS Settings.
  • Check whether a guest network, router isolation, or VPN prevents local device discovery.
  • Retry discovery after changing a permission or network setting.

If the TV connects but cannot play

Chromecast needs an HTTP or HTTPS stream that the receiver can reach. Some providers require headers, restrict playback devices or simultaneous connections, or use a media format the receiver does not support. A stream that plays locally can therefore fail when cast.

Try a different channel and ask the provider whether its streams support Chromecast. SageIPTV for Apple TV is a separate native app; it is not a Chromecast receiver.
